INQUIRY & INSPIRATION
First, I want to know what you have in mind, such as a specific person, space or intention. The Commission Inquiry Form will ask you a few questions about these topics, including the vibe, size, color scheme, and format you're looking for.
Next, I’ll ask you to share with me which of my prior works resonate with you. This will give me direction and a better understanding of the style you are looking for. Photos of your space and fabric swatches can also be very helpful.
Once we’ve covered the essentials, I'll quote you a price (please first let me know if you have a budget in mind), send you an agreement to be signed, and collect a non-refundable 50% so that we can officially begin.
DRAFTS & SAMPLES
The next stage is my drafting phase, in which I create mockups (usually 1-3) of what we discussed. You’ll receive photos of these are rough drafts so that we can confirm your piece is headed in the right direction.
creation & feedback
I'll start creating on your art! Throughout the process, I will send you 3-6 photos to check in for feedback. Things like: "I’d like the line work to be thicker," or "I’m loving the pastel colors in the background," or "Let’s add more gold elements," are all very helpful.
final steps & shipment
Once I’ve finalized your piece, I will share an official photo of your art, collect the remaining payment balance, and then ship your new artwork! Your shipment will include any custom messaging and gift wrapping that you may have specified, and you will also receive a handwritten thank you from yours truly, Nikki Merrifox.
