Making a Baby Fox
Well, hello there, my foxes!
I’ve been MIA, but I’m on my way back! I wandered here and there and over yonder…tell me, does a little time make the heart grow fonder? I’ve missed you, and writing to you.
Where did I go, you ask? I fell off the map. Deep off the map into the Bermuda Triangle. There, I’ve faced raging headaches, seeming endless nausea, and fatigue that borders on narcolepsy. Can you guess what’s really going on? ...I’m making a baby fox! 🦊
As you can imagine, first trimester symptoms have caused my creativity engine to sputter out, and my productivity level to nose-dive into a dark void. But recently I’m feeling a bit better! Baby and I are healthy and happy. But I sleep way, way more than I ever have. It appears my night fox days are over, for now.
I haven’t painted or done anything creative for a few weeks now. Normally that would cause my brain to burst with a gazillion new ideas, but things aren’t exactly normal. So, I’m taking it slow, and starting with you, my foxes.
Baby fox is about the size of a plum now, and has a very strong heartbeat. I know, ‘cause I heard it! Ultrasounds are so cool! We’re expecting him springtime next year.
In the meantime, I’ll do my best to keep writing to you regularly. This whole event has been an excellent reminder that health should come first. My body needs better care than I often give it. I practice discipline wholeheartedly in many areas of my life, but not always with respect to health. Especially with respect to rest.
I have just one foxy life, one foxy body. Well, two for a limited time, haha. 🦊 There’s no way I’m ever going to create everything I dream of if I don’t take care of my body.
As the season turns to fall, let’s practice wellbeing together. Let’s take care of our bodies, hearts, and minds better than we ever have before. I’m going to start with another nap. 14+ hours of sleep per day is normal, right?!? 💤 Let me know what you do to take care of yourself this weekend, and stay healthy, stay foxy.
Three cheers for my lovely foxes,
