Celebrating All Kinds of Progress
Cheers ("Yamas") from Crete, Greece!
We’re in Old Town, Chania (pronounced HAWN-YAH), learning about wine and basking in vacation mode. Yep, nerds on vacation - always gotta be educatin’. Fortunately, an education in wine starts with tasting! 🍷
This vacation has been a rare break for us. We are always in “go-mode” because we’re dreamers, doers, and progress-mongers. We put a lot on the agenda and go about achieving as though fires were constantly lit under us. You probably already knew this, given all the foxy formulas and progress prep-talks I share.
But. But but but. “Go-mode” isn’t everything. Breaks count as progress too!
Last week, we chatted about how to inject creativity and inspiration into our lives by indulging our curiosities. Have you made anyone do the chicken dance yet? Haha 🐓 ...Want to know another way to build inspiration and creativity? Take a break! Indulge in a moment, an hour, a day, a vacation of pure foxy time.
The key is purity, quality of time spent. Indulge in that which sets your mind free. Release the stress and let your shoulders relax. Move your jaw from side to side and free your face from tension. Breathe. Breathe deep. Inhale freedom and exhale stress. Look around at this beautiful life we enjoy, that we create, and feel the abundance. Celebrate, and let gratitude well up into a sense of peace. We are here, now, and that is good.
Progress on the path to realizing our dreams consists of more than just stepping stones, or achievements. It’s also the mortar between stones, the wildflowers shooting up in springtime, the fresh morning air, the sun kissing our faces, and more. We need breaks to free our minds, hearts, and bodies from obligations. We need to allow space for wellbeing, creativity, and all the good things that we forego when we are stressed. Create some balance, and we will set ourselves free.
Being on vacation has reminded me of the value of breaks. I feel so inspired and ready to create! I’ve taken about a gazillion photos to use as references for paintings and have ideas for new series. I have notes on future newsletters and plans for new content. I have SO MUCH ENERGY. And I’m going to create it all, to share with you.
I hope my newsletters help you take a break, encourage wellbeing, and spark creativity. I want to inspire us all to live well, be well, and to grow into the best foxes we can be. Get ready for more content that helps us create all kinds of progress, and trust that we are building exactly the path we need to make our foxy way. Thank you for joining and sharing your stories with me on this journey - our foxy earth is a huge source of inspiration and motivation for me.
Three cheers for my lovely foxes,
