This is a print of my original acrylic painting, “Upon Reflection”.

This is the first time that I’ve painted blue mountains instead of purple. There’s something intuitive about color choice, and the same goes for naming a painting. I like to think “Upon Reflection” is apt, because of the water, and because I always learn so much from reflecting upon my work. While I paint, I love to imagine that I’m creating an entrance to another place, real or imagined. Like an escape window, where paint means freedom and beauty.
